It is hard to believe that I will be with you as Priest in Charge since March 1, 2020. We have not held very many services in St. Andrews and none in St. Matthews. I sure hope this year will see changes to that. We continue to pray for the day when we will meet once again.
As you may have noticed, we did not have an AGM last year due to Covid-19 and this year we will be trying something new. We are going virtual; a Zoom meeting. Please see below for the invitation to join me on February 21 at NOON. You can join either by the internet or by phone. If you are not sure of how this works, please call one of the Wardens, or me.
Mark 1: 29As soon as they left the synagogue, they entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. 30Now Simon’s mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they told him about her at once. 31He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up. Then the fever left her, and she began to serve them.
I have been thinking a lot about this passage this week. We have been praying for protection for our parishioners, family, friends and neighbours from contacting this terrible virus. When it is all said and done: the Vaccine is working, the numbers dropping. How do we respond? I guess we can say: Whew, we dodged that bullet! Or do we give thanks to a loving Saviour who brought us through this epidemic. Hopefully, once the fever has left us, we arise and begin to serve Him. Well, that is how I am feeling today! How about you?
